You can get a taxi number or see if their is an abundance of cabs around the restraunt for pick ups?

I recommend always having a cab number when on holiday or on travel through my own experience. Story in short is I was in the Bronx visiting the zoo. Being New York I imagined their will be taxis millions of them for me even in the bronx. Their were none. In the bronx I counted 3 taxis all of which drove past me. I had to walk the mile and a bit to the train station. Which was a scary scary experience. From then on I learned always get numbers of local cab companies for such an emergency.
