Seems like free wifi, but not expecting any other notable benefits.

Have some Sweet Dilemma nights that I will use for the IC Istanbul towards the end of the trip, but need to fill out the first few nights.

Am I better off looking for something more local to stay in?

thanks!

To follow up on this:

I had a phenomenal stay at this hotel (HI Istanbul Old City). at 10k PC/night it is a total steal. Normal rate was ~150 euro.

As a PC Platinum, I booked a "2 single beds" room on points, received upgrade to a TWO bedroom suite. I think the nicest level the hotel had to offer. Free wireless internet.

Very newly redone. Literally right on the tram stop. 20 minute tram ride to main sights in the Old City, but removed from the most touristy stuff. It is a great location. The Trams in Istanbul are excellent.

Overall ^^ -- I would return in a heartbeat at that rate if I were visiting the old city. About 35 minutes to Taksim, but if you're on a budget, this is totally reasonable.
