I hear ya, cept there's this thing called secure flight where your birthdate gets entered into your record. It used to be the date could be changed, I've noticed in the last 6 months that it can't. It's not worth it if you are caught.
With regards to (In)Secure Flight, passengers travel everyday with the birthdate entered, at or after the time of booking, being something other than the birthdate of the person named on a ticket and/or in a PNR. I've had no problems when that has occurred.
