Back at hotel after many years, and more than impressed with changes - easily my favourite for Frankfurt from now on:
- Upgrade to business exec room (no suite, but very large & well-appointed, so very happy)
- Staff helpful, warm & welcoming across the board (front desk, bellman, lounge attendant, as well as literally everyone encountered in hallways). It was a long time ago so memory may be a bit hazy, but as far as I can tell a marked difference with Sheraton times
- As mentioned by previous posters, the lounge is really good: drinks & basic food in evenings (also second the salty-remark on the soup :-)), and breakfast simply superb for a lounge (pretty much full spread, and possibility to order e.g. eggs separately, cooked to wish).
In short, major thumbs up !
Also stayed at LM Parkhotel (my previous favourite) twice in past weeks: still very good, suite upgrade on one occasion, friendly staff ... read: all reasons why it was my favourite to begin with & believe one still can't go wrong with LM. Just relative ranking changed I guess: Westin clearly improved its game. If suite upgrades are a determining factor, guess LM still gives the best odds (far more available in inventory). Other than that: Westin at par or notch above LM on most aspects, with the new lounge being a hefty joker.
