I'm not sure I understand your post correctly.

Are you saying that you currently have an active Roth IRA account, never had a regular brokerage account before and then you opened a regular brokerage account to get the bonus and were declined?

I'm in a similar situation - I have a Traditional IRA, Roth IRA and a 401K from a prior employer. I was thinking of getting a regular brokerage account for this offer to get 50K UA (or AA) miles but it seems from your post that I wouldnt be eligible.

Anyone else have any different experiences?

I called on the phone, and the representative was professional but said there's nothing than they can do.

That's too bad. I was actually going to invest some new funds with them in order to get this promo, but I'm not going to do so now. No real skin off my back except for the waste of time. I misread the offer - I saw Roth IRA was excluded, which I thought meant I was eligible for the promo. It doesn't - it means you have to sign up for a non-Roth account, but if you already have a Roth you're excluded. Bummer. Oh well.
