Normally I'm a big fan of the HEX, but in this case you will only save 1 minute (allowing 5 minutes for the connection) by taking the HEX + District line to Earl's Court vs. the Piccadilly line. Given that the Piccadilly line is cheaper, runs more frequently, and is a direct service, I'd say its the better option here.
