I would definitely follow up with a manager. I'd be happy to provide you with contact details if you send me a message.
Thank you for your help and greatly appreciate all that saw my post. I called the hotel afterwards when I returned home to inform the assistant front desk manager of the "problems". She was very kind and listened to my concerns. She did end the conversation with the courtesy of crediting one night's stay at the hotel.
Overall, the services at the hotel was excellent. I do believe it's their protocol and how they manage the facility to cater to VIPs an issue that needs to be resolved. Either they need to update their software or keep EVERYONE informed that certain who's who is checked in. I complained that if the service was the same for everyone then what's the point of me using the Amex Centurion card??
I could easily have used my United or Continental credit cards and get MORE miles upon check in instead of a lousy 1 point per dollar on the amex rewards.
