I'm sorry, but it is invariably almost empty, it is a great waste of resources for what it must cost. It's not that frequent either, and as buses from in front of Olympia to Kensington High St station and beyond are continuous, it is an obvious one to reduce expenditure.
They say they're not doing it to reduce expenditure though (which you might have thought would be their argument), it's because they want to add five trains
a day to Wimbledon. Not an hour, but five trains a day, and I remember it from 15+ years ago when it only ran during exhibitions. Since then the Southern Brighton - Watford Junction service has been killed off (stops at East Croyden now), the Cross Country service Brighton - Manchester Piccadilly has gone. They've just spent masses of cash making improvements to the station adding in more lights/cameras and taking out the existing lights (which a little bird told me were perfectly good working order).
