Okay, so I booked the two seats. I had to do it on 2 computers, not browser windows, since aeroplan cookies wouldn't let me be logged into two separate accounts at a time. Worked fine, and we were seated together, I had to check that on the phone afterwards. I now have to wait a couple of weeks so I can book our return flights from Vancouver. Thanks for the help.
