Speaking of cityjet and staff travelling in uniform, I had a strange experience a few months ago on the late Sunday flight from LCY to DUB. Was in 16A (my preferred cityjet seat) with an in-uniform pilot cityjet pilot sitting behind me. He chatted away nicely to the flight attendant and seemed very pleasant.

The strange part came when the captain talked to us from the deck. A very strong regional Irish accent - so strong, it was almost impossible to understand - and i am Irish! Also, some strange language and references.

Turns out from over hearing the 2 staff talk at the back of the aircraft that the captain was poking fun, as it were, at the non-rev colleague.

It gave me something of a bad feeling to think that the officer in command was focusing on that rather than flying - I know a very 'you are not a pilot/you don't understand how easy it is to fly aircraft' way of thinking.
