I do tend to avoid nuts etc in a bowl, or will happily ask for my own small serving bowl from the bar staff.

I am not so fussy that I won't share a communal bowl of nuts at the table with my friends, or at someone's house, for a start, I am pretty sure my nearest and dearest are capable of washing their hands!
