Online Checkin -What's the Advantage??
BA Club World Newbie flying JFK-LHR-MUC this Saturday thanks to the 100K Chase CC Offer. Our seats are already assigned thanks to OW Saphire status. According to BAs website, all pax departing USA must see agent prior to boarding for security reasons.
My question is what's the advantage of OLCI? We will not be checking luggage and if we need to see an agent at JFK anyway and already have our connecting BPs to MUC, I don't see the sense in having to go to the passport desk and then visit the flight connections center to have the BPs scanned. and verified that we are "ready to fly and carrying the correct passport."
I understand the "35 minute" gate rule; however I'm concerned we may not make our connection if we need to again wait in 3 lines (passport check, BP Scan Line, Security) once we arrive in LHR. We are on BA 176, which seems to arrive 30-40 mins. late each day the past few weeks I've been checking. Our scheduled layover is 1:35 mins, and from what I read, even that is cutting it close. We may try to take an earlier flight out of JFK if BA lets us; however, being on award tix, we may not have this option.
Thanks for reponses!
