Sorry to bump an old thread, but had a question more seasoned SQ flyers might be able to answer. I have a trip booked, and will most likely get the exit rows for myself and my better half as we shoot off on our honeymoon. Part of the leg is on the A380, I been on quite a few times now.

Ok... Blabbering over, to the question.

I know SIA are stingy, and I know the likelyhood of an upgrade even on our honeymoon, and even though we have one of the more expensive flexi economy tickets, and all my years flying with them - is less than 1% (ok I made that number up). If we purchase the seats, does it affect our chances of getting an upgrade on the day? It's something that won't change our decision to get the seats, I was kind of interested anyway.
