The unfortunate part, and I guess the title reflects my initial post thoughts, was that Canadian Amex Platinum and Centurion card holders was going to get the foriegn exchange fees waived.

I was wondering if it happened yet..

Comments on lack of competition is correct.. my wife still ended up getting the card, and we'll use it for most of our domestic purchases when activated. Still up in the air which card we'll use for our travels.. Seems like the Amex gold is good.

I'm dissapointed as well.. would have been nice to get those fees waived.. but seems the US card holders are complaining about the hidden 'spread'.. so the jury is out on that one too.
