Arriving early AM on day +2 instead I find much more difficult. This is true to a large extent. I am never jet-lagged going TPAC USA to Asia. Never. (tired yes, but not jet-lagged and am good to go the first morning out of the blocks). Not so the other way around.
However, I have tested Asia-USA-Europe-Asia and then Asia-Europe-USA-Asia and by a longshot, the latter (continuous westbound) is easier on the body than continuous eastbound, regardless of departure/arrival/connection times. YMMV.
