If this is really true, it simply cannot be allowed to stand. I know gate check is a PIA for both the passengers and probably airline employees, but it is far better than lost and misconnected luggage. This is especially true since the data is clear that CRJs (of all types and all carriers) are far more prone to be delayed or canceled than mainline aircraft.

If this stands, I will NEVER fly on a CRJ again. Period.
