I don't think any benefit depends on whether the Silver card holder is the so-called lead passenger - that's fairly irrelevant.
The exemption to the heavy bag charge for all pax on the same booking as a Gold/Silver is clearly a defined benefit
here. It's not at all clear that the other pax get a second bag though.
I do see your point about big groups checking in away from the CW desk, however if that's an explicit benefit, it's not really unfair is it? My group is usually 3 or 4 so not a consideration. I am keen to be able to pick seats early, take extra bags and earn double miles however!
Club check-in is only an explicit benefit for the cardholder. In practice, BA are generous and will let a couple of pax travelling together (even on different PNRs) use the Club desks if one of them is entitled to do so. But this always seems to be a matter of discretion. With a group of four or more and only one person entitled to use the Club desks, I think you're going a bit far to try to all use the Club desk.
Lounge access rules are clear: one guest only.
Picking seats is clear: silver benefit extends to all on the same PNR.
Double miles is clear: applies to cardholder only.
So what isn't clear exactly?
