Ah sorry, I realise I didn't answer the question completely.

Your name can be anywhere on the PNR but only you will be allowed the extra bag, weight, etc. The rest will have the allowance they're entitled to from the cabin they're booked in. We can only give leeway if it's a family group all related to each other.

So if you've got some heavy bags in the group, then check them in under your name. You didn't hear that from me
