QuietLion, this is another excellent trip report. I am rather surprised about the excellent-sounding meal service. On a recent AA 2 hour trip in F we were offered a beef salad or cold cut plate, for instance, which doesn't quite measure up to your first leg on the 747, a trip of comparable length.

The trouble with the famed double upgrade is that it spoils you, doesn't it? The seats are so much better than C, esp on a transcon trip. Oh, how easy it would be to justify to the company upgrading to F :-)
