I'm afraid I don't have an exact answer to your question. I have only expressed my fears but I am not going to try and find out if they are true or not by putting myself at risk.

Let's not forget that this was a purely hypothetical scenario only to highlight the difference between PIO and OCI in such a bad situation. The reason for this was to seek opinions on what knowledgable people thought about the OCI and PIO and this has helped me make that choice between the two.

For me the choice is clear : PIO as I feel the OCI does tempt with life long visas etc but it carries more potential to complicate matters. Again this is a personal opinion and choice.
