Paid LMU's are available to E/SE's as well. And loyalty is rewarded through the reward process of the Aeroplan system, including, but not limited to, bonus miles, e-upgrade certificates, and complimentary MLL access.
Why? They didn't pay for it. Why not give it to someone who is willing to pay for it? Even $100 of cash for a LMU is better than giving the seat away for $0.
Yes, part of the value of "J" is that it is more exclusive, and not filled with screaming babies, or riff-raf. A few empty seats are to be expected. A less filled J cabin = better service to the people who do pay money to fly up there. To be giving the product away for free, even to E/SE's, devalues it, and eventually conditions said people to never pay for it and merely seek out means to evade paying the normal price of entry.
1. Why would I buy J when the flight isn't close to full?...what piss out my good earned $$$ for AC?
2. Paid LMU's are NOT always offered and NOT on all flights either to E's/SE's FYI. The later points come from Top Tier Benefits which are already in place for continue loyalty.
3. Empty seats or not I have been on FULL J Class flights and flights that were wide open whereby you couldn't get a second drink or cup of coffee and were sitting there rotting like a catcus in the desert! Has no correlation with good and bad service at all.
4. My point is if the flight isn't full, there are no further upgrades to be given out etc. I find it apauling that we leave MM'ers and SE's sittng in the back of the bus but rather upgrade staff ahead of revenu paxs!
Having staff up there and filling the cabin is more attractive to you or should they be banned as well so that the J Class cabin is more exclusive? Staff before Revenu paxs is a BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE!..it looks bad and it is BAD!
