I'm usually flying for weekends, short holidays, city breaks. And every time with the cheapest fares. This means I have nothing against kicking me out of certain flight because of overbooking.

Let's say that I see on LH.com that my flight is full a couple of days before, almost for sure overbooked. I'm greedy for compensation, what method should I use - late check-in, letting them know in advance that I want to be a volunteer, anything else? Do they offer re-routing to some passangers during all check-in process or only to those which came in the end and there are no seats?
