quick 2 hours DCA-CVG-DCA DL
I had to meet someone in CVG and we decided on Sunday. I called around and got interesting fares:
AA $1900 (!!!)
CO $ 600 (!!)
DL $ 198
So I booked my ticket. At the last minute, decided to take my 10 year old son and booked another ticket for him. A good price, even though I rarely fly Delta and don't remember particularly good things about it.
We parked at DCA in the hourly lot, walked a very convenient distance, through security, and we were at the gate. Very easy.
We flew out on an MD-88. Served beverages, FAs were friendly. We were seated in row 30 (no status on DL).
Everything was smooth and uneventful. We arrived and I went to the Crown Club. They let me in even though I'm not a member, on the strength of waiting for my business associate to join us (he is a member.) The club is very nice, with a lot of room, meeting areas separated off, and meeting rooms. My associate arrived and he had rented a conference room so we went in there.
It was small but had a table for 8, television, phone, power. We had our meeting and then I got back on to the outbound flight back to DCA. Again, uneventful, smooth, decent service for Y.
If only all trips were this easy! DL has a great route structure but I am not eager to fly them regularly. They have old equipment, and I hate hate hate Hartsfield. But this was fine.
