You should be able to hop in a SkyClub take a quick shower and then go to baggage claim within 30 minutes.

You should be okay.....After all you are in NY, it's not like your bag comes out within 5 minutes of landing. If you get to baggage claim within 30-40 minutes of landing, I think that is safe enough
