a couple months ago I made a four reservations for stays. I called in to ask a question and a supervisor type guy "admonished" me (i say that jokingly) for not going through them. He said they could usually get me better deals than what I could find online.

So today I needed to make a few more reservations and thought what the heck, i'll give them a shot.

now i had already looked online and found some opportunities with the "pay your birthyear" and "buy 2, get one free" promotions. the rep i spoke with was super nice but it just seemed to take forever and I basically had to tell him which rates i had found and then he reserved them for me. he couldn't find anything better probably because i am fairly good at figuring these things out.

so after completing two of the four reservations i needed, i ended up telling him that i was done and i went online to finish the last two on my own. I find it much more efficient to do it on my own.

i'm curious to know what most people do here. which method do you use and why?
