Gabby, I stayed at the InterContinental this past April (United had a $471 e-fare from SFO, so I went for the weekend...and the miles!). I was able to use some United 1/2-price hotel certificates, so it came to about $120/night.

By the way: if you haven't been before, the National Palace Museum is terrific - well worth a whole day. They took all the good stuff when they left the mainland!

I was disappointed by the markets on a Sunday, but Lungshen Temple was a great visit - very colorful, and full of locals paying their respects.
