Read my itinerary incorrectly, showed up an hour earlier than necessary at DFW, so checked into the CO President's Club.
Very nice person there. Checked me on to my flight, bumped me to first class through.
Flights were terrific. Frequent glasses of OJ were terrific while trying to recuperate from my cold.
Landed at COS, rented an Olds Cutlass from National. They tried to get me to upgrade to a Mustang convertible for an extra $20 per day, however I feared what I could do with such a machine. In hindsigh, considering the countryside I was driving through, I would have enjoyed the breathtaking scenery even more. Drove US 50 to US 285 south to Center, CO (near Alamosa). 3 1/2 hour drive.
Every time I thought I saw just about the most magnificient scenery, I'd turn a corner and find something even better. This place is going to the top of my vacation list!
On site Friday PM. Stayed at Holiday Inn in Alamosa. Ehhh. $80 was a bit much.
Worked Saturday AM and afternoon. Drove to COS Saturday evening. Getting dark, so took less scenic route up I-25.
Stayed at the Radisson. I had a CO upgrade coupon. Got a business suite. WOW! Ordered room service, filled up the jacuzzi, watched SportsCenter. Life is good.
Back at COS, tried to upgrade to FC with another coupon. One seat available, and a Gold Elite next to me travelling with her daughter. They couldn't upgrade both, so she sat in coach and I got FC.
Breakfast was less than fun. Strawberry had mold on it. Home Fries were dry enough to help out with the flooding in NC. Eggs tasted like no eggs I've ever endured before. Should have asked for the cereal.
Sat next to an architect. Very interesting. I learned a lot. I also found out about an upcoming development in a customer's area. Good tip to pass along.
Definitely got to get to CO again. I think maybe I'd rent a big RV, pack up the family and drive around for a week or two. Just breathtaking.
