QuietLion: What a wonderful and descriptive report! I am picturing the beauty of the awe inspiring view of Shasta as you drove south yesterday. Smelling the fragrance of the peaches you and Hunnybear gorged on before hitting the Fruit Patrol station. And savoring the steaks at Omar's right along with you. I agree completely with you about Omar's, it's one of my favorites, but it's so hokey I didn't think anyone else really went for that sort of thing.

BTW, you didn't miss a thing by not finding the Yreka Bakery yesterday. It's just a little coffee shop whose only claim to fame is its name.
