The area surrounding Amankila is by far the least "touristy" part of Bali I have experienced--in my mind, the perfect balance of 5-star comfort and Balinese culture. And I thought the rice terrace walk/hike that Amankila can arrange gave access to much more spectacular, and untouristed, scenery than anything I saw in the Ubud area. Amankila should be your very top choice, in my opinion . . .
