Air Canada Hyatt Hilton YYZ-SFO
I left the Park Hyatt in Toronto which is an excellent hotel in the very trendy Yorkville area. I proceeded to the Maple Leaf lounge in Terminal 2 at YYZ. This lounge is much, much nice than domestic RCC's. Not just because of the free liquor!
As I walked down the jetway to the A320, I saw it had a wild green paint job with a Toronto Raptors mascot on the tail. Pretty neat!
I sat in Executive class as they call it which seemed a bit nicer than narrowbody 1st class on United, but not as nice as UA on the wide body domestic. I noticed in the galley they had the usual list of passengers with their FF class. They had me listed as UAG for United Gold which was pretty cool. But everyone in Executive class had some kind of UA or AC designation so I wasn't treated any different than anyone else.
The FA's were quiet and efficient. BlondeBomber asked me to report on the cuisine, but I can't think of anything to say about it. It was good, but nothing to write home about. But that's true of most airplane fare.
One great thing about AC is they show Canadian movies. I probably never would have seen Conquest if I didn't take this flight. Well I guess I'll see it again next week as I'm flying LAX-YUL-LAX.
Upon landing at SFO, I drove to the Pleasanton Hilton. I usually stay at the Oakland Airport Hilton, which is one of the worst Hilton's in the world, but it was full. The Pleasanton Hilton costs about $40 more and it's 20 miles out of my way, but it is worth it. Who would have thought such a nice hotel would be hiding in Pleasanton?
