New Reservations via Egencia not being linked to AAdvantage account
Hello,
This was a tough one to search on, so sorry if I missed a previous post.
My company has used Egencia for corporate travel for the past several years. Up until the beginning of this year, I never had a problem with my AAdvantage account being linked to my reservations made through Egencia. Since the beginning of 2011, all of the AA reservations I make through Egencia do not show up when I log in to AA.com later on. I called Egencia first, they told me that AA returned an error that my name didn't match up to the AAdvantage #. So I called AAdvantage desk, and the agent told me this had to do with a recent computer system change where names with a space (my last name has a space) would be affected for approximately 6 months or so until they completed the change over, and then everything would be fine, until then I would have to call AA after making my reservation through Egencia and have an AA agent link it.
I know 6 months haven't passed, but every time I call AA, I am being told I should log my AAdvantage # in Egencia to avoid this. When I explain that I have, and what Egencia and the first AA agent told me, none of them acknowledge it or know about it, which makes me wonder if the first agent was confused or how valid that explanation really was. It won't kill me to keep calling, but what it does do is clear my seat assignment since I am usually picking preferred seating and AA doesn't recognize me as eligible when the AAdvantage number doesn't link up. So I end up calling to link it, then logging back in to reselect my seating, and this cumbersome approach has me wondering if I am all alone with this.
I've triple checked my Egencia profile, nothing has changed regarding my name (the space being removed) or my AAdvantage #. Has this happened to anyone else? Any recommendations on how to get this resolved definitively?
