FYI the last time I used it the basic BA lounge at ORD was nothing to write home about - it's inside the building and a bit cramped, but not as bad as, for example, the Boston dungeon.
Indeed I was talking about the return - well spotted.

And I agree that the BA lounge at ORD is bijou, although I was only in the pre-flight dining area (with a quick loo stop on the way to the gate). Certainly think 4hrs is going to be a bit long there - you might want to take your time (can the OP drop into the AA lounge in T3 first???)

And as for the DFW connection - good point but I was wanting the last flight out of AUS possible so the BA DFW departure didn't help unfortunately.
