Late to the discussion... Sorry. Just back from transporting the TV and Film A-Z list too and from the south of France...

I do not get offended if people do not pay attention to the safety demonstrations, be it the video or a manual version. I do, however, take exception to people talking loudly through it, and will address that.

It is a matter of having respect for the people sat around you who may want to watch and listen, but can't hear because you are bumping your gums.

During the safety demonstration, if I see someone actually looking for something, such as the floor level lighting to assist in an evacuation, I will make sure that they know where it is when I secure the cabin. Things are not always immediately obvious.
