You should come and try Crowne Plaza Monomotapa, Harare (the Hotel Zimbabwe). Only two cold showers so far on this trip (and the longest period of continuous working internet and TV in the hotel's recent history - fingers crossed).
Edit: I wrote too soon. Make that three cold showers. The trick is to jump in and get over the shock as quickly as possible.
It's a shame, I remember almost 15 years ago when I was in Harare. I couldn't remember where I stayed so I told a cab driver to take me anywhere, he took me to Monomotapa. It was 4am in the morning, I asked for a room and said "don't ask me why"
Back then it was a 5 star luxury hotel and everything was perfect
