Actually, come to think of it, I flew C ZRH-LCY about a year ago (LX460, leaving at 8:45), and IIRC it was just a fruit salad thing plus the bread basket passed round on that occasion.
Is 8:45 too late already to qualify for (proper) Breakfast service?
My MAN-ZRH flight departed at 08:40 so I don't think 08:45 is too late for hot breakfast. It might be due to the route.
I remember reading somewhere that hot breakfast is served on morning flights from LHR and MAN because of competition. Since the only other airline which serves MAN-ZRH is U2 I can't think it's anything to do with competition as far as MAN-ZRH is concerned but LX breakfast in C is far better than what LH offers on MAN-FRA and MAN-MUC flights.
