I hate it when people at United (or any other people for that matter) don't understand exactly what you're telling them. I hate it even more when they pull incompetent stunts like some of these.
That being said, the biz class seats on the 747-400 absolutely rule. I wish I had one in my living room. Beats the first class seats of most aircraft hands down.
The Friday trip of UA962 is a 747-400 OB. That's the configuration with 3 rows of coach just ahead of the mid-plane lavs. I sat in 46C on Friday, in a full plane. Problem with 46C is that it's a very busy spot just outside the galley. For a flight that spends more time than this in the air, no problem. On a flight this short, with both meal and snack service, it's almost always a very busy spot to be. (And one of the FA's spilled a whole tray of ice on my feet.) Brrr!
