What happened to the LNF?

I found a rate for a Marriott property that is cheaper than the one I reserved at Marriott.com, then I filed a LNF claim. Then they used the 'excuse' that tax was excluded from the rate thus my claim was denied.

Then I checked on the comparison site again and tried to proceed to book to see the actual amount due and the amount was the same (I guess the site is US site and are not used to the European VAT where you add all taxes in). So I complained and they got back with the same answer

So I checked again and to make sure and it still the same lower than Marriott's price popped up. Now I've just sent off a reply to LOOK to tell them about my findings. Honestly I don't think I'll ever get an approval when I have to fight like this since it seems that they have made up their mind not to get it through, but this really annoys me so I decided to demand a re-examination of the claim.

I even found a pre tax rate from another site as comparison (again lower than Marriott's pre tax rate) since they really like to compare 'pre-tax' rate.

How can they do that? I'll never want to sue them since it's a nice gesture of Marriott to offer this guarantee but they can't just deny people with wrong argument.
