It looks like the restaurant at the Hilton at T5 may almost make it worth staying at. I've been to his London restauarnt a few times and it's great!

I accept that nothing can quite replace the convenience of a hotel that is in the terminal though. I've not stayed at the LHR Sofitel, but the LGW one is lovely.
