Davewho?? didn't give you a correct answer on your first question. You cannot earn miles to your account for flights she takes. You can use her miles to book yourself a ticket(if she has enough for the ticket, can't use some of yours and some of hers for the same ticket) or you can pay a fee(that no longer makes it worthwhile) to transfer her miles to your account.
