FIRST: FRA/MUC-IAD/ORD, FRA-SFO

I was on UA 901, SFO-FRA, again ensconced in Seat 1A

beginnings

Appetizers
Herb-marinated chicken breast and tomato mozzarella skew with tabbouleh salad
(finally, somone who makes a tabbouleh as it is supposed to taste. light mint, lemon, etc.....like in the Middle East, not a western variety ^ )

Soup
Creamy corn soup
[again, very tasty, almost as good as my own .... but again served with a tacky paper cocktail napkin under the bowl on the saucer. TACKY]

Salad
Seasonal greens with cherry tomatoes, carrots, radishes, and croutons
(blah salad .... not as fresh or tasty as Calif veggies)
choice of Ceasar or Asian Sesame Ginger Vinaigrette dressing

main course

Grilled filet mignon with bordelaise mushroom sauce

Roasted chicken with sweet chili sauce

Beechwood wrapped grilled salmon
(they actually served this with the beechwood still wrapped around the salmon. kept the filet very moist)

Artichoke, tomato confit and goat cheese lasagna -

to finish

the usual ice cream sundaes and fixings

cheese and fruit - Bavaria blue (an excellent cheese -- we had this for dessert last night in Germany, too), red cheddar (good sharpness and color!), and Strolch pepper (I thought too much pepper for the mild cheese)

lunch before landing

chilled deli plate with Gruyere cheese

Tandoori prawns with basmati rice and an apple-curry sauce
(blah presentation. just splatted down in the center of the plate. Average taste -- I had high expectations.)
