I had my eyes done last October in Edinburgh at Optical Express. The whole process was painless and I had the LASIK Wavefront (the one where the laser creates the 'flap')

I have to be very honest and say that with the exception of some very light to mild pressure, which lasted literally a few seconds, (pain threshold 1-2 out of 10) the whole process was soooooo easy. The procedure takes about 1 hour from start to finish but the actual laser in your eyes lasts seconds, well in my case anyway. You cannot see anything except a red dot making a pulsating noise then that's it........ over. The Edinburgh branch feels like an actual operating clinic, gowned up, theatres etc. Very slick looking indeed.

You can't feel a thing as they aneasthatise your eyes with drops beforehand and I had to wear small ski-like goggles for one week afterwards when I went to bed at night and I felt like an Eddie the Eagle lookalike.

My eyes were a little dry for a couple of months afterwords but daily drops easily cured this as did time. Here I am now over six months later and it is absolutely fantastic. No regrets whatsoever. Both eyes are now better than] than 20/20 vision. I feel like Superman

After wearing glasses for over 20 years it was such a pleasure to buy a pair of normal wraparound sunglasses without having to wear contact lenses. It is great to golf, swim and do other things without glasses.

They were very professional and their aftercare was also of the highest standard IME. My prescription was -1.5/-1.75 and yes the prices does start at £395 but if you want the fancy lasers etc with Wavefront it costs. I paid £2400 total. There was no sales pressure ony a recommendation which I enhanced myself.

I have noticed when reading that i have to hold whever it is slightly further away than usual, just a few inches, but they do tell you this at the pre-op stage but it's not an issue at all. A few celebrities have endorsed them and they have invested a lot of money in state of the art equipment. Like any elective surgery there is a slight risk but I have to say my only regret is that I didn't get it done a bit sooner. Here is the Dr who did me.
