I had it done around 4 years ago now. Best thing I've ever done. I chose the Centre for Sight, based in Sussex, but have consultation facilities in central London. There was something about having it done on the high street that just didn't feel right for me. They have excellent surgeons, and a great reputation. I had intralase wavefront I think, totally painless, but what a strange experience! From being quite short sighted (-5.5) to being driving standard in about 15 mins, and then better than 20/20 the next day! Everyone is different though, the healing time alters significantly from person to person. And of course it wont prevent long sight that is associated with getting older. I paid just over £2500, on an interest free credit period of 6 months i think. Good luck if you go for it!
