The concierge at the FS Sayan booked dinner at Amandari for us. We arrived at 6pm to have drinks in the bar and watch the sunset before dinner in the restaurant. I thought the atmosphere there was lovely and peaceful and there is no doubt that the pool area is superior to the FS riverside pool (which is nice, but doesn't have such a great view and gets very hot). I would definitely think about staying at Amandari next time.
Another thing that I remembered about Amanusa is that mixed drinks in the bar were really bad. A quite revolting thai martini and a negroni served in a long glass with LOTS of soda. I know this is picky, but other places such as Amankila get this right. Bvlgari Bali serve the best negronis ever - makes sense with the Italian connection I guess!
