Terrific report--makes me want to try the villas at FS Sayan, since the Amandari duplex pavilions were a bit too rustic for my taste--but I agree with you about how special the atmosphere at Amandari is.

The water failure at Amanusa preventing clean-up prior to departure is pretty grim. Seems like Aman should have found some way to compensate or make amends for that significant inconvenience . . . but I'm not sure how, exactly.
