Oy. The St. Louis Grand. Man have I had some issues at that hotel. I was on a long project and stayed at this hotel for ~4 months or so and have seen it all. From rooms that weren't even remotely cleaned properly (trash cans not emptied from previous guests, what appeared to be a melted soap bar from another guest in the shower) to a rotten salad from room service.

I eventually had enough and raised a stink with management and they wouldn't even bother to answer my emails until I got corporate involved. It took most of a week but I got to the GM for the hotel and I got an upgrade to the presidential suite for the remainder of the week. Funny enough, there was a bottle of cleaning fluid left in the shower the night I switched rooms.

I ended up talking to the GM and really never got the feeling that anything would change or that they really even cared about fixing the many problems I had raised with the hotel. I was promised suite upgrades whenever I came to town, but and upgrade doesn't really compensate for sleeping in filth.

Needless to say, I switched hotels after that.
