Not a regular at LGW by any stretch but just reading a couple of other threads, thought I'd mention this...

Arrived last week (after a not very good flight) and N. Terminal immigration (EU pax) seemed rather busy. However the lane on the far right was moving a lot faster as this fed into about three desks tucked behind the new biometric gates. The further left you went the slower the lanes were as they were feeding into 1 or maybe 2 desks each.
