Charging a Platinum More?

I was checking for a hotel room in Philadelphia on the Sofitel website and got a quote of $287+tax for double room for 1 night. I did not reserve this room as to take away any possible booking class or availability. I then logged in under my account, which I'm Platinum status under, and was given a price of $346+taxes for the same room. I closed that window out. Started out fresh and again got the $278+tax rate from Sofitel.com. Is it policy to charge more to people when logged in?
