I have a reservation for my mother (traveling alone) from Kolkata to Chicago on the following Air India flights:

Air India 23
Depart: 8:15pm Kolkata, India Kolkata Netaji Subhas Chandra (CCU)
Arrive: 10:30pm Delhi, India Delhi Indira Gandhi Intl (DEL)

Change planes. Time between flights: 3hr 15min

Air India 127
Depart: 1:45am Delhi, India Delhi Indira Gandhi Intl (DEL)
Arrive: 7:10am Chicago, IL Chicago O'Hare International (ORD)


I have a few questions regarding this flight and I am getting conflicting answers to these when I called Air India support.

For departure (CCU to ORD)
1) Domestic/International terminal in Kolkata?

2) Will the bags be taken in Kolkata, and received in Chicago ?

3) Will both the boarding passes be be given at Kolkata?

4) Immigration formalities in Kolkata or Delhi ?


If someone has taken this connection, can you please clarify the details.


I am new to flyertalk, so please pardon me if I am missing out something in this post.
