Two items. One can be up to 45 linear inches (I think that is the current limit) of Width+Height+Length, but it can be anything smaller like a backpack. The other is the laptop, purse, etc.
Yes, it's still 2 items total. But 2 items listed under "personal items" rather than one suitcase and one personal item. So I should be fine?
