Hi. I was wondering if anyone can shed some light on the following. I am Elite Gold with Krisflyer and frequently travel between LHR and SYD. I am booking my next flight for June but for some reason the tickets are astronomical on the SIA website for some reason(just short of £5000 in economy). However, if I book through Virgin Atlantic site, I can choose the same SIA flights and it's only £1100.

My question is that I currently have quite a few points which I was intending to try and use for an upgrade to business class. Does anyone know if I can still use these points to upgrade on a SIA flight booked on a Virgin Ticket and if so how to do it?

The one plus side is that I suppose I can use the Virgin Clubhouse at LHR if I book this way.
